Fall is upon us

I took this at Tounsend Park last week. I was glad to be there on a perfect day for fall color.

Sunset On Lake Michigan

This pic was taken September 17 from aboard the Holland Princess. It was a spectacular sunset that evening.

Holga

I just purchased a modified Holga camera. The modifications are:

1. 2 apetures (f8 and f11)
2. Closer focusing
3. Flocking (the interior is painted flat black - this helps with light leaks and adds contrast)

I'll post something here as soon as I can. It should be interesting.

For those who don't know what a Holga is click here.

Oklahoma- What a trip!

Just as I had hoped, we got a "behind the scenes" tour of the renovation going on at Boone Pickens Stadium. What a facility- It was indescribable. Here is a pic of the annual spring game. I did not have my zoom telephoto with me but I still could see the field rather well from the top.

Upcoming Oklahoma Trip

Saturday morning at 3AM, I will be departing for Stillwater, Oklahoma to see the annual spring football game at 6PM. Ross Slager, my brother-in-law will be going with me. I hope to make this an annual event, because nothing is better than being on OSU's campus in the spring. (except maybe the fall!) I'm bringing my camera and I hope to get a few photos of the new stadium renovation that is nearly complete.

It's been a slow process going through the photos, but well worth it.

More Nebraska

As I'm going through the photos from the trip, it is becoming apparent to me that I'm just scratching the surface. I am very pleased with a lot of these pics.

A Keeper

Overall, I have kept 357 photos out of the 1,100 or so that I shot. This one is a keeper.

Nebraska 1st Day (the numbers)

I have not looked at a single pic yet. But here is what I have to sort through:

1,150 photos.

4+ GB of HD video.

My task is daunting to say the least, I can't wait to get started!

The weather here has turned bitterly cold and windy, so I'm spending the rest of the day inside my hotel room.

Nebraska Prep

The annual trip to Nebraska to photograph the Sandhill Cranes is a couple days away. This year I rented a Nikon lens for the trip. (300mm f2.8) I would never be able to afford this lens new, so leasing is the best option. I'm excited about this years trip because of my new camera (D90), and the lens obviously. I will be taking some HD video clips with the D90, so I'm anxious to see how that turns out. The weather forecast says Wednesday in Kearney, Nebraska will be sunny and a high of 57. I have plenty of cold weather gear because it's going to get down in the low 20's at night.

Film and Digital

After some serious deliberation, I have decided to add a couple of film cameras to my arsenal. For 35mm I recently purchased a Mamiya ZE Quartz from circa 1980 or so. It was the last 35mm camera manufactured by Mamiya. Years ago my first camera was a Mamiya from the 70's. I learned how to photograph with it and I've always wanted another. (It was stolen - long story)

Max@11 weeks

I've been told that Max looks very cute in this photo, but also very naughty.
He definitely is a handful.

Gus - Max update:

After a couple of weeks of torture for Gus, the boys are finally playing nice together. (except when food is involved)

His name is Max

I picked him up yesterday. He loves the kids and Gus. Unfortunately, Gus hasn't taken to him yet. We'll give it some time.

Sneak Peak

This little guy was born on November 30 so he's not ready to leave his mother yet. Isn't he cute?
